Will the alert audio go off if my device’s volume is set to silent?

No. The audio component of the alerts is controlled by the devices’s current volume settings and cannot be overridden. So if the phone is set to “Silent” mode, you will not be able to hear the audio alert indicator. However, the notification will still be sent to your phone.
