Step 1: Add a Location
To get the most accurate alerts, turn on your live location or add your ZIP code when you add a location. Avoid using only the city and state name.
Go to: Locations tab → + Add Location
Step 2: Choose How You Get Alerts
All alerts show up in the app by default. If you also want to get alerts as push notifications with sound, follow these steps:
Go to: Locations tab → tap your location → tap Set Up Alerts → Under specific Hazard, tap Advanced Options → tap specific Alert.
For each alert, you can choose how you would like to receive it:
- Show Alerts (in the app)
- Notify with Sound
- Send Notifications (to your device)
- Tap Finish.
You can also turn on Critical Alerts if you want them to come through even when your phone is on Do Not Disturb.
